The protest of rankled supporters on May 10 resulted in Sevilla FC players sleeping at the club’s training ground. After the side’s 3-2 loss against Celta Vigo in the La Liga 2024-25 game held at Estadio de Balaídos, several angry fans amassed at the venue and displayed their discontent. Police looked vigil and stopped extremes from barging into the training facility. The bus carrying players and supporting staff was attacked with projectiles while on its way to the training venue and players were also demeaned by miscreants. Noting the incident, Sevilla have decided to file a complaint against blokes who attempted to be violent against players, staff, management, and employees.
"Sevilla will report to the relevant authorities the unusual violent attacks on its employees, players, technical staff, and management upon their arrival at the training complex. Sevilla expresses its absolute condemnation of any protest that involves violence and criminal acts like those seen this Saturday," remarked the club in its statement on May 11.
Sevilla will next play against Las Palmas on May 13
Sevilla’s loss against Celta Vigo has placed them in the 16th spot on the points table. With three matches left in the tournament, they will look to avoid slipping into relegation as they are only six points above the zone. Sevilla will next host Las Palmas at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on May 13.
Las Palmas are in the 19th place on the points table with eight wins, eight draws, and 19 defeats but Sevilla will be wary of their opponents as the Kirian Rodriguez-led team has nothing much to lose in the competition. Both Sevilla and Palmas have played against each other 11 times with the former holding an upper hand with eight wins.
