The match no. 44 of IPL 2021 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a very silent start with not much happening in Sharjah. After losing the early wicket of Jason Roy, SRH tried to pave their way back into the contest with some cautious batting. However, the Orange Army suffered a major blow when their captain Kane Williamson was dismissed by DJ Bravo, with the score reading 49/2 in 8 overs.

Citing an opportunity to attack, CSK skipper MS Dhoni got Shardul Thakur back into the attack in the pursuit of a wicket. The move looked like reaping benefits on the 3rd delivery when Wriddhiman Saha hit the ball straight in the hands of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was standing at backward point. The wicket would have completely put the contest in favour of CSK but the bottom-placed side finally got some luck going in their favour.

As Saha was walking back to the pavilion, the no-ball siren hooted up which meant that Thakur had crossed the bowling crease while bowling the delivery. The replays confirmed the same as third umpire Michael Gough was quick to act on the situation.

Just when the new batter in form of Abhishek Sharma was about to enter, on-field umpire Yeshwant Barde confirmed the decision and signalled for free-hit to conclude a dramatic sequence of events.

The SRH wicketkeeper finally ran out of luck few overs later when Ravindra Jadeja dismissed him. However, Saha's 46-ball 44-run knock could prove to be very crucial in his side's attempt to post a competitive total.
