While the Indian cricket team is locking horns with England in a high-octane Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer continues to battle for a spot in the national side. Although, Iyer has been sensational on the field, helping Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinch their third Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2024 and leading the Punjab Kings in the following year to the final of IPL 2025, he is still fighting for a permanent spot.

Although, Iyer did find a place in India’s Champions Trophy, he proved himself with the bat, finishing as the top run-getter for the Men in Blue, amassing 243 runs while batting at number four position. While he continues to give his fullest on the field, in the latest video which has been making rounds on social media, he fell to a stunning delivery, bowled by his mother.

Iyer, who is spending quality time with his family, away from cricket, was seen playing a game inside his home with his mother, Rohini Iyer. Casually dressed in a white t-shirt and black shorts, Iyer knocked down the first ball, but went on to miss the next delivery. As the ball moved forward, his mother couldn’t control her emotions and celebrated in a joyful manner.

The video, which was shared by his IPL franchise, PBKS, was captioned, "Only time SARPANCH (leader) wouldn't mind getting bowled.” However, it has garnered attention of many, the fans expressed joy on his mother’s celebration.

The 30-year-old Mumbai batter was last seen in action in the Mumbai T20 League, representing SoBo Mumbai Falcons. He joined the side after the conclusion of IPL 2025, where he led his team to the final, however, lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets. While he finished as the top run-getter for his side, amassing 604 runs from 17 matches, he stood sixth in the list of highest run-scorers.
