On the back of this massive knock, Gujarat Titans posted a total of 188 runs. Then in the second innings, Hardik Pandya's men ran through the Sunrisers' batting thanks to performances by Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma, who each picked up four wickets.
Later in after the match, Gill was also named the Player of the Match award. Reacting to this performance, the Indian opener spoke about how this was a full-circle moment for him after making his IPL debut against SRH.
He said, "I made my IPL debut against SRH and got my first hundred against them, so life has come full circle. Hopefully, many more to come. It's all about the bowlers and situation and I don't dwell much on my last innings. It is important to focus on the situation in front. The six off Abhishek Sharma was the most pleasing thing for me."
