Sri Lankan women’s team registered a thrilling 1-run victory over Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 semi-final. Just like men’s team, the women’s team stunned the Women in Green to bag a spot in the final of the tournament. Batting first, the Sri Lankan team posted a mere total of 122 in 20 overs. However, the bowlers made the game out of it as they didn’t allow the Pakistan batters to play freely. In the end, they managed to defend the target by just and booked the final against India.

After the game, the Sri Lankan women’s team were in joyful mood as they celebrated the win by performing a dance routine on the ground. The Sri Lankan players were in perfect sync as they performed the victory dance.

For Sri Lanka, Harshitha Samarawickrama was the saviour of the team as her composed knock of 35 helped the team post a modest total. Although, it looked the target will be chased by Pakistan’s team comfortably, the bowlers came out with a different mindset and didn’t allow any freebies. Inoka Ranaweera was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as she picked 2 wickets while giving away just 17 runs in her quota of 4 overs.

Sri Lanka will now face India in the final of Women’s Asia Cup 2022 on October 15.
