This has been a strange edition of the Indian Premier League as far as the fielding standards are concerned. While fans have witnessed some exemplary fielding efforts throughout the tournament, there have also been moments of ordinary and unacceptable fielding in the cash-rich league.
During the match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals on Wednesday though, the catch taken by Kamlesh Nagarkoti to dismiss Devdutt Padikkal was certainly of the former category. The effort came in the 19th over of the Rajasthan Royals innings who were asked to bat first by Delhi Capitals.
While Padikkal mistimed a shot on a slower-ball variation from the usually express pace Anrich Nortje, Nagarkoti, who was on the field as a substitute took a great catch running in from deep point and diving forward. The video of the same surfaced on social media.
