Former Sri Lanka cricketer Thisara Perera recently was seen bringing his batting prowess once again on the front as he smashed a bowler for six sixes in an over. Playing in the Asian Legends League 2025 for Sri Lankan Lions, Perera smashed Afghanistan Pathans’ Ayaan Khan for six maximums in the Eliminator on Saturday, March 15 at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium in Udaipur.
After winning the toss for his side and opting to bat first, Perera went full throttle as he went on to score unbeaten 108 off 36 deliveries for the Lankan Lions. The 35-year-old’s innings was laced by two fours and 13 sixes, smashing the Afghanistan Panthers' bowlers at a strike rate of 300 and helping his team post 230/3 in 20 overs.

Coming out to bat when the Sri Lankan Lions scorecard read 75/3, after Lasith Lakshan’s wicket, Perera went onto to breach the 50-run mark in the 17th over. However, he unleashed his prowess in the penultimate over, hitting Ayaan Khan for six sixes.

The final over also saw Ayaan Khan bowl three wides. However, Perera finally added 108 runs on the board to help the Lankan Lions get to a competitive score. Although, he could not make much of an impact with the ball, but Vikum Sanjaya’s three wicket haul, along with two wickets each from Malinda Pushpakumara and Upul Indrasiri helped them restrict the Afghanistan side to 204 in 20 overs.
With this 26-run win, Sri Lankan Lions confirmed their place in the Qualifier 2, where they will see the loser of Qualifier 1, which will be played between Indian Royals and Asian Stars on Sunday, march 16 in Udaipur.
