While the athletes outperformed during the 15-day global event on the world stage, it was Hollywood celebrity, Tom Cruise who lit up the French capital on Sunday in the closing ceremony.
Known for his on-screen heroics, a similar scene was visible to millions and billions in the French capital when he performed a life-threatening stunt. The legendary actor jumped from the roof of the Stade de France, where the ceremony was held and transferred the Olympic flag from Paris to Los Angeles, where the next edition is set to be held. Emulating the Mission Impossible style, the actor took the Olympic flag on his bike and took it to the airport, from where it is set to jet off to LA.
