The Atlanta Hawks’ Tray Young got married to his fiance Shelby Miller. The pair were engaged in December of 2021. Videos from their wedding made rounds on social media and were well received by Basketball fans, who quickly congratulated Young on his special day. Young has dated Shelby Miller since his days at the University of Oklahoma, where she was a cheerleader.

The 24-year-old already has a son with Miller, who was born in 2021, and the couple have recently announced that they are expecting a daughter, their second child. Trae Young spoke on the “From the Point” podcast about his family life, saying that the no feeling better than being a father.



Growing up as an older brother to two sisters, Young said he would teach his son Tydus to protect his little sister.  He said, “Ain’t nothing like being a dad, bro. You’ll enjoy it one day.” He added that he was praying that his now wife Shelby stayed healthy throughout the pregnancy. Young said that he wanted to be a good father figure for his children and help them grow up with their heads in the right place.

Trae Young continues to impress for the Hawks


Young has been a crucial part of the Hawks’ season. In his fifth NBA season, he showed he was one of the most impressive players around by averaging 26.2 points per game and a career-high 10.2 assists a game.  He also shot 33.5% from the three-point range and averaged 6.3 shots attempts a game en route to taking the Hawks to becoming the number 7 seed in the East and to the playoffs. His impressive performances have seen him earn the more than $200 million 5-year max contract he is on with the Hawks.
