India started Day 2 of the third Test between India and Australia on the back foot as Peter Handscomb and Cameron Green handled the Indian bowlers really well. Both the batters added 40 runs for the fifth wicket and looked on course to propel Australia over 200. However, R Ashwin spoiled their plans as he trapped Handscomb with a beautiful loopy delivery. The veteran off-spinner got Handscomb caught at forward short leg as Shreyas Iyer grabbed a sharp catch.
But it was Umesh Yadav who impressed on the morning with his control and pace. After Ashwin trapped Handscomb, Yadav took no time in sending back Cameron Green. The pacer trapped the Australian all-rounder LBW with a beautiful incoming delivery. In his next over, Yadav bettered himself and bowled an absolute jaffa to stun Mitchell Starc.
As the Australian was new to the crease, Umesh dished out a length delivery from the wide of the crease. Starc played for the angle but the ball straightened up a bit and went past the batter’s outside edge to hit the off-stump and send it flying.

Yadav did not stop there as he took another, his third in the inning in no time. Yadav cleaned up Todd Murphy to hand India their ninth success. On the back of these three wickets from Umesh and three wickets from R Ashwin, India bowled out Australia for 197 in their first inning.
