The first innings of IPL 2021 eliminator between RCB and KKR has been nothing short of any action as Sunil Narine wreaked havoc in Sharjah with a brilliant spell of bowling, where he registered figures of 4/21 in his quota of 4 overs. It was a difficult wicket to bat on and Eoin Morgan had the perfect bowling line-up to capitalize on these conditions, with three lead spinners in his side.

While Narine took the bulk of wickets, Shakib Al Hasan and Varun Chakravarthy also did a remarkable job to keep the RCB batsmen quiet in the middle. The pressure was expectedly immense and considering the occasion, even the umpires could be seen feeling the intensity of the situation.

Bat before wicket given out by umpire

In a very interesting incident, RCB batsman Shahbaz Ahmed attempted a reverse sweep off Varun Chakravarthy. He seemed to have got an inside edge as the two batsmen completed an easy single. KKR fielders were appealing for LBW but there was expectedly no reaction from umpire Virender Sharma. But suddenly, something happened and the umpire raised his finger which got everyone by surprise.

The left-handed batsman was quick to signal for DRS and the replays confirmed that the ball was nowhere close to the pads as it only hit the bat. The decision was overturned to not out but the incident resulted in RCB losing the run because the on-field call was out.
