Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) top-order batter Ayush Mhatre were seen in a lively mood. Both youngsters have been impressive for their respective teams this Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. In the CSK vs RR contest played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 20, both produced dashing innings from their bats. Mhatre played a rapid knock of 43 off 20 while Suryavanshi contributed with 57 off 33 to Royals’ six-wicket win. Riding on Suryavanshi’s magnificent batting display, Royals pulled off the target of 188 runs in just 17.1 overs with six wickets in hand.

Following the game, when Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Mhatre reunited with each other, the former’s tendency to ask for a bat emerged once again with the 14-year-old playfully asking for Mhatre’s bat. Vaibhav later inexpressibly remarked, “Arey ye apna bhai hai, ye dega nahi…(He’s our brother, he won’t give it…)". After a few moments he also said the CSK's young batter is asking for his bat. “Ye merese mang raha hai batao… Merese koi bat le pata hai abhi tak batao aap?” (He’s asking me for a bat… Has anyone ever managed to take a bat from me? Tell me!).” Sharing the moment of the two youngsters on X, RR wrote, "Bat, ball aur Vaibhav ki baatein. Going to miss this."

Vaibhav Suryavanshi concluded his debut IPL season with impressive batting numbers

Suryavanshi looked phenomenal for RR with his bat in the ongoing T20 tournament. In his debut IPL appearance, he struck 252 runs in seven games at a strike rate of jaw-dropping strike rate of 206.56. His biggest achievement in the season came in the game against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on April 28.

With his ferocious 35-ball ton, he became the Indian batter to notch up the fastest IPL ton. Following his performance for RR in the season, he will look to be at his best in the upcoming 2024-25 domestic season. If he succeeds in proving himself in India’s domestic circuit, he can be seen wearing Team India jersey soon.
