Star India player Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma, met Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan on May 13. A day before visiting the spiritual guru, Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket and concluded his 14-year career in the format. The 36-year-old’s decision came following Rohit Sharma’s retirement from cricket’s longest format on May 7. Both batters were struggling to be among the runs in red-ball cricket and they were facing criticism for their recent disheartening performances. After Kohli’s exit, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will have to get a batter who can deliver impactful numbers to the team while batting at number four in the upcoming England Test series.
Discussing Virat Kohli’s visit to Premanand Ji Maharaj, it's been the second time in the year, the star batter has met the spiritual guide. Earlier, the batting maestro met Premanand in January following India’s defeat against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. His recent visit got viral through a clip which showed him and his spouse Anushka Sharma asking Premanand asking some questions.
