In front of a packed house at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Virat Kohli achieved the epic milestone of equalling the longstanding record of 49th ODI hundred set by his former Indian teammate Sachin Tendulkar during the ICC Cricket World Cup clash against South Africa. But just a few hours later, the 35-year-old was spotted boarding a flight in economy class, the video of which has gone viral on social media on Monday, November 6.

The 49th ODI hundred for Virat Kohli came in just 277 innings, compared to Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved this milestone in 452 innings. The Delhi-born cricketer scored 101 runs in 121 balls, staying not out till the end to guide Team India to a formidable total of 326/5 in their allotted 50 overs on a pitch which was getting increasingly difficult to bat at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Virat Kohli is one of the wealthiest athletes in the world, and for that reason, his decision to travel in economy class has surprised many. But, it is well documented that the 35-year-old is one of the most humble and down-to-earth personalities in the sport, an example of it can be seen now.

Furthermore, as per the reports, Virat Kohli had boarded the flight in economy class to Bengaluru, where India is set to play their final match of the round-robin stage against the Netherlands in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Indian cricket team have already qualified through to the semi-final, but they would like to keep their winning momentum at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on November 12.
