Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli hugged former India batter Suresh Raina during the Indian vs England mid-inning break. India locked horns with the reigning champions in their sixth clash of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on October 29. The match took place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium before a full-house home crowd. Visiting captain Jos Buttler won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first.

After the Indian innings, former India skipper Virat Kohli was seen catching up with the Indian veteran on the field. Kohli and Raina have shared the dressing room for quite some years and were seen sharing a warm moment as they hugged each other during the mid-inning break. The video of the same has gone viral on social media and has been shared by Indian cricket fans.

Kohli and Raina were a part of the ODI World Cup 2011 winning squad, when India lifted the coveted trophy for the second time, after a gap of 28 years. It is to be noted that the Indian stalwart was the former Indian batter, alongside former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif, they carried the glittering trophy at the traditional commencement of the match.
Coming back to the match, India lost some early wickets in the names of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. However, the team rode on skipper Rohit Sharma’s 87-run knock along with Suryakumar Yadav’s 49 to post a decent total of 229 runs at a loss of nine wickets.
