In the ongoing second Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test, Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, tried to change his team’s fortunes with the highly famous bail swap trick, but it didn’t work as the Australians managed to not lose a wicket. The incident happened before the close of play on day one which saw Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne survive a tough final session of batting in the Australian first innings after bowling India out for 180 runs in their first innings at the Adelaide Oval.

Following the unsuccessful attempt from Virat Kohli to bring India back into the contest, the Australian batting lineup piled on the agony on day two of the second BGT Test match. Travis Head was the star of the show for Australia with his eighth Test hundred, second versus India, scoring 140 runs in 141 balls with 17 fours and five maximums, to help the hosts reach 337 runs in their first innings after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj took four wickets each.

Australia need five more Indian wickets to get a step closer to winning Adelaide Test

With a lead of 157 runs in the first innings, Australia bowling lineup piled on the agony for the Indian batters in the final session on day two. The fast bowling trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Scott Boland taking five of the Indian wickets in just over a couple of hours, reducing them to 128/5, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy at the crease, trying to keep the visitors in the contest.

After the close of play on day two, Travis Head spoke about the send off given to him by Mohammed Siraj after scoring a hundred in front of his hometown fans at the Adelaide Oval. He was quoted as saying, as per Cricket.com.au, “I feel like the way I play the game, I would like a better reaction. I was surprised at the reaction in terms of situation of the game and the lead up. There was no confrontation leading up to it. I felt like it was probably a little bit far.”
