During the NXT Vengeance Day event, emanating from the CareFirst Arena in Washington D.C., WWE superstar Stephanie Vaquer was crowned the new Women’s North American champion after defeating Fallon Henley with the Spiral Tap. With Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx of the Fatal Influence expected to assist Fallon Henley in the championship match, the odds were stacked against Stephanie Vaquer, but she managed to overcome the situation, to win her first title in WWE.

Ahead of the NXT Women’s North American Championship match, Stephanie Vaquer was in a feud with the Fatal Influence during weekly shows live on CW Network. Over the last couple of weeks, she defeated the likes of Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in singles matches, to have a confident build-up before going into the title match against Fallon Henley, who had been running rough shots in the women’s locker room for quite some time.

In the championship decider, when Fallon Henley knocked Stephanie Vaquer to the floor, Jazmyn Nyx ran interference, allowing Jacy Jayne to get a cheap shot in. During the closing stages of the highly pulsating contest with the title on the line, Vaquer dropped Nyx with a crescent kick before landing one on Jayne after ducking underneath a cheap shot from her, to get Henley where she wanted her.

Shortly after, Stephanie Vaquer connected the SBB on Fallon Henley before landing a Spiral Trap from the top rope, and scored the decisive pinfall, to become first-ever South American-born superstar in wrestling history, to become a champion in WWE. The title triumph for the Chilean wrestling sensation Stephanie Vaquer came just over seven months after she had officially signed with the company in the summer last year.

Meanwhile, in the main event of the NXT Vengeance Day, Oba Femi retained the NXT Championship after defeating Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a triple-threat title match.
