The pink-ball Test between Australia and India is well-poised with the hosts dominating all four sessions so far in the ongoing match at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. While Mitchell Starc was the wrecker in chief in the first India innings as he completed his fourth five-wicket haul in pink-ball Test, most by a pacer till date as the Aussies restricted India to 180 in 44.1 overs.

Coming out to bat later in the day, India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah got an early wicket with Usman Khawaja departing cheaply. However, Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney steadied the innings with the scoreboard reading 86/1 at Stumps on Day 1. But Bumrah continued his fiery spells as he dismissed newcomer Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith in the opening hour of Day 2’s play.

After three jolts to Aussie lineup and Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head looking good in the middle, Rohit Sharma re-introduced Nitish Kumar Reddy into the attack. Coming out to bowl the 55th over of Aussie innings, Reddy bowled a short, wide outside off to which Labuschagne played with a cut. However, the Aussie batter miscued the shot, Jaiswal flew to his right and completed a catch to get rid of the batter, who looked good.

While Labuschagne departed having scored 64 runs off 126 deliveries, the Indian team cheered up to celebrate the wicket. During the celebration, Virat Kohli hogged the limelight as he was seen shushing the crowd, video of which has been making rounds on social media.

Marnus’ wicket also ended the 65-run stand between Labuschagne and Travis Head. At Tea on Day 2, the Australian scoreboard read 191/4 after 54 overs with the hosts posting 11-run lead. Travis Head, who has hit seven sixes off Ashwin’s bowling so far, reached his half-century, while he is joined by Mitchell Marsh (2 off 10) in the middle.
