Since his accident on December 30 2022, Rishabh Pant has gradually improved his health and started walking using crutches. Pant shared a post and captioned, "One step forward, one step stronger, One step better." Since the accident, Pant has undergone one surgery as official reports suggested he had suffered injuries to his head, back and feet. The first operation was for the knee ligament tear.

Pant will need at least 8-9 months to make a comeback, which means the Delhi Capitals star will be missing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, IPL 2023, Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup in October. Apart from the player’s medical expenses, the board is set to pay Pant INR 16 Crore salary from Delhi Capitals as per reports. Similarly, BCCI will also pay him his INR 5 Crore central contract in full.
