India’s batter Suryakumar Yadav is in the form of his life. Yadav has amassed over 1100 runs in a single year with the help of two centuries. The latest of which came against New Zealand a few days back. Suryakumar scored 111* off just 51 balls to power India to a big total. This was not the first instance of Yadav toying with the bowlers as the batter has been doing this for a while now.

He scored 239 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 189.68 at the recently concluded T20 World Cup. The batter plays shots all around the ground and is also being termed the new Mr 360 of cricket. His scoop shots against the pacers and a sweep from wide of off stump to deposit the ball into fine leg stands are two of the most praised strokes.

With SKY completely ruling T20 cricket at the moment, Glenn Maxwell who is also famous for his unorthodox shots was asked to share his thoughts on the batter. Maxwell looked in awe of Suryakumar and his ability to hit unorthodox shots with a straight bat. The Australia all-rounder, who is currently out of cricketing action due to an injury, was also asked if a BBL contract is on the cards for the Indian batter. To this, Maxwell gave an interesting reply.

The Melbourne Stars player said that BBL franchises won’t be able to afford Yadav even if all of them came together. He then joked that Australia will have to sack all its contracted players and then hope for Yadav to take the offer.

“We don’t have enough money in our whole entire cap to get him, so there is no chance. We will have to sack every played and sack every Cricket Australia contracted player and then hope he takes on this,” said Maxwell on the Grade Cricketer’s podcast.
