On Monday, July 14, Team India registered a heartbreaking defeat in the third Test of the five-match series against England. Coming into the third Test on the back of a convincing 336-run win at Edgbaston, India failed to perform under pressure and went down by 22-run margin in the third Test with England once again taking a lead to 2-1.

However, KL Rahul was the lone centurion at the Lord’s from India, Jasprit Bumrah starred, picking a fifer. In the final innings, Ravindra Jadeja was the lone warrior and lack of a strong partnership led to Indian team’s downfall. Although, the Men in Blue will hope to comeback even stronger in the fourth Test, set to be played from July 23 at Emirates Old Trafford and take the series in to the decider in London.

Rishabh Pant shares heartfelt post after Team India’s Lord’s Test defeat; post goes viral

Days after the defeat, star Indian wicketkeeper-batter and Shubman Gill’s deputy, Rishabh Pant took to X to share a heartfelt post. "We fought hard, but sometimes the game doesn’t go your way. Test cricket never stops teaching," he wrote. It is to be noted that Pant, who played a crucial 112-ball 74 in the first innings, failed to get a big score to his name in the second innings as he was dismissed by Jofra Archer early on day 5.

The 27-year-old, who was hit on his finger on the opening day of the third Test, also did not keep the wickets, with Dhruv Jurel replacing him behind the wickets. Apart from Pant, Siraj also took to Instagram to share a message with a positive intent, and acknowledging what Test cricket has on offer. “Some matches stay with you, not for the outcome, but for what they teach. ���� ���� ” Siraj wrote.

The Men in Blue will hope to come out good in the next Test, which is set to be played from July 23 to July 27 at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. Moreover, they will eye for a win and once again level the series, taking the series into the decider, which is scheduled to be played from July 31 till August 4 at the Kennington Oval in London.
