India's women cricket team are all set to play their first Test match since 2014 when they take on England in a one-off game later this month. Ahead of this one-off Test, the preparations have already begun for the women's side. While they are already in Mumbai, training indoors and getting ready, they will land in the United Kingdom on June 3 along with the men's team. And now captain Mithali Raj has spoken about what all she is doing to get set for the historic red-ball game.

She mentioned that she is wearing pads for long hours while being in the Mumbai hotel as she wants to get used to it and wants to get into a habit of it before the start of the match. She added that it is very important for her to bat for long hours if the team are to do well against England.

It is important I prepare myself to bat long, says the skipper

"I am wearing pads for long hours because I want to get used to it. We are playing Test cricket and it is important I prepare myself to bat long and hence I want to get used wearing pads for long," Raj said on Sports Today.

Earlier on Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the new Test kit for the women's side, which the Mithali Raj-led squad will be donning in the one-off game. Post that, the teams will also face off in a three-match ODI and T20I series.
