Australia beat South Africa by three wickets in 1st ODI

The first match of the five-match ODI series between South Africa and Australia was a low-scoring thriller as the hosts were bowled out for just 222 runs on the board in 49 overs. Skipper Temba Bavuma played a lone ranger's inning for the Proteas, scoring an unbeaten 114 runs while the rest of the team scored 108 runs combined. While chasing the target Australia lost seven wickets in 17 overs at a score of 113 runs, however, Marnus Labuschagne came in as a concussion substitute for Cameroon Green and changed the course of the match in the visitors' favour.

India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul, who joined the India squad for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023,  underwent his first training session at the Nondescripts Cricket Club on Thursday, September 7. Rahul trained along with Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Shardul Thakur, who trained under the guidance of coach Rahul Dravid and batting coach Vikram Rathour.

Aussie pacer Mitchell Starc planning to return to the IPL

After eight long years, Australia star pacer Mitchell Starc is looking to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as the 33-year-old Aussie considers the IPL as a "great lead-up" ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024  hosted by the West Indies and the United States from June 4 to 30, 2024. Starc said, " Look it's been eight years. I'm definitely going back in (next) year. Amongst other things, it's a great lead-up to the T20 World Cup. "
