In general, for a rain curtailed T20I game to get a result, minimum 5 overs has to be be bowled in both innings of the game but as per the new ICC rules, minimum 10 overs should be bowled in both innings for a match to be completed in semi-final and final game of T20 WC 2022 to have a result. So, in case if team doesn't get to face the minimum criteria of 10 overs on match day, how does the result of match get declared? Here in the article, we will have a look at it.

T20 WC 2022 Knockout schedule:

Semi-Final 1 at Sydney, 9th Nov (1:30 PM IST)
Semi-Final 2 at Adelaide, 10th Nov (1:30 PM IST)
Finals at  Melbourne, 13th Nov (1:30 PM IST)

- Now, if the match day gets washed out before either of team gets to face less than 10 overs, then the match will be resumed from same stage on reserve day which has been specifically allocated for semi-final and final of the game.

- If teams aren't able to complete 10 overs in each innings on reserve day of semi-finals, then the team which finished at higher position in points table will get to qualify for the final of T20 WC 2022 tournament.

- If teams aren't able to complete 10 overs in each innings on reserve day of finals, then both finalists of T20 WC 2022 will be declared as joint-winners by ICC.

Note:- In CT 2002 final game got washed out on both match and reserve day, thus both India and Sri Lanka were declared as joint-winners by ICC.
