India to play day-night match during tour of Australia

The Indian men’s cricket team is set to play a day and night tour match against Prime Minister’s XI during their upcoming tour of Australia, later this year. The update was confirmed in a press release by Cricket Australia on Friday, August 9. The match is set to be played between the first Test and the day-night second Test of the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy, from November 30 and December 1 at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. “India’s bid to avoid a repeat of the batting horror show they endured in their previous pink-ball Test appearance in Australia has been bolstered by the scheduling a day-night fixture against a Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval,” Cricket Australia’s statement read.

Many congratulations to you, to Pakistan. Mood of the entire country has changed with one gold medal… One guy is trending across the whole world, that is Arshad Nadeem.”

Mohammed Shami likely to return to Indian team during Tests against Bangladesh

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has reportedly made considerable progress in his recovery from ankle injury that has kept him out of action since ODI World Cup 2023. As per ESPNCricinfo, the cricketer is likely to return to the Indian side to play during the Test series against Bangladesh in September 2024. Shami is currently is final stages of rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Last month, Shami resumed bowling for the first time since surgery and was understood to have slowly built up bowing workload.

Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam got brutally trolled for his tweet after Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won gold medal at the men’s javelin throw event at Paris Olympics 2024. Nadeem, 27-year-old broke the Olympic record in second attempt by touching a distance of 92.97m to win historic metal in the final in Paris. After his win, Babar took to X and wrote, “After 30 long years, the gold is back in Pakistan! Huge congratulations to @arshadnadeem29 for this incredible achievement. You’ve made the entire nation proud.” Following his tweet, fans reminded the cricketer that it is Pakistan’s first ever athlete to win a gold for the nation at Olympics. 

Yuvraj Singh heaps praise on Neeraj Chopra following his silver medal win at Paris Olympics 2024

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh congratulated Neeraj Chopra and heaped praise on him after the latter won silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Neeraj, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics champion recorded the throw of 89.45m and secured a spot on the podium. Singh, former cricketer took to social media to share, “Proving yet again that his spirit to win is as unbreakable as his javelin’s flight. You have not only won a historic silver medal but have also brought a golden moment for every Indian heart.
