India batter Prithvi Shaw has been picked by the Mumbai Cricket Association for the team's upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024 clash against West Bengal. As per multiple media reports, t he NCA granted Shaw clearance to participate in the Ranji Trophy on Wednesday. With the youngster's inclusion, Mumbai will have a 17-member travelling squad.

Former Indian fast bowler arrested in cheque-bouncing case
Former Indian player Prashant Vaidya has been arrested by local police in a cheque-bouncing case. Vaidya had allegedly purchased steel from a local trader and issued a cheque which bounced. After the mishap, the trader demanded that the former India international make a fresh payment, as per PTI. But Prashant Vaidya allegedly refused to pay and the matter went to court which issued a non-bailable warrant against him for skipping court hearings.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has been appointed as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chief for the third time in a row. His extension received a unanimous agreement at the ACC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bali on Wednesday, January 31. Shah is in the second year of his second two-year term as the head of the continental cricket governing body. Shah was appointed as the ACC chief for the first time in 2021, as he replaced Nazmul Hassan.
