On Monday, July 22, the newly appointed Team India head Coach, Gautam Gambhir addressed his first conference after taking up the role, alongside Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. The duo addressed several concerns and speculations which had build over days after the squad announcement for the Sri Lanka tour. Moreover, the Indian team departed for the island nation for their limited-overs series, starting July 27.

Both those guys have a lot of cricket left in them and can play the 2027 World Cup.”

Days after the BCCI announced 15-member squad for the Sri Lanka tour, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir have now opened up on Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s snub. Speaking at a press conference, Agarkar said, “he has not been dropped from ODIs, he is definitely in scheme of things. As there are so many Tests ahead where he is going to feature, we gave him rest.”

Gautam Gambhir during his press conference address, once again clarified his relationship with Virat Kohli. “Good for TRP. My relationship is not public. On Monday, July 22, Team India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed the appointments of the members of the coaching staff. "Really happy. The BCCI have agreed to most of the things I have asked for.
