The  ICC T20 World Cup 2024 saw several clashes unfolding across various venues in the USA and West Indies. While West Indies and Afghanistan sealed their Super 8 spots by thrashing England and Papua New Guinea, respectively, England reignited their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign by bowling out Oman at just 47 runs. On the other hand, Sri Lanka got eliminated from the season as Bangladesh beat Netherlands by 25 runs.

Co-hosts West Indies secured their Super 8 qualification by taking down New Zealand by a margin of 14 runs in the 26th clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The sides clashed at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad where the home team continued their dominance to put the Kiwi rivals in danger zone. The game saw New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson winning the toss and inviting the opponents to bat first. The game had seemed to be slipped away from the Windies when Sherfane Rutherford posted 68* runs in 39 deliveries to post 149 runs on scoreboard. In return, the Black Caps couldn’t chase the target as were restricted at 136 runs.

Netherlands' star Sybrand Engelbrecht produced another amazing fielding highlight as he held on to an incredible catch to dismiss Bangladesh's Litton Das in the T20 World Cup 2024. Facing off against Litton Das, Aryan Dutt sent out a full length ball which was slogged away by the Bangladesh keeper. As ball skied up towards the legside, Sybrand Engelbrecht came running in from deep square leg and threw in a full-length dive to complete a stunning catch.Playing at the scenic Arnos Vale Ground, in St Vincent, the Dutch won the toss and started brilliantly with the ball as they reduced Bangla Tigers to 3-1 in 1.2 overs.

Nassau County Stadium's dismantling process begins; to be disassembled in six weeks

The dismantling process of the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York began in Thursday, June 13 (IST). The pop-up stadium constructed specially for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be disassembled over next six weeks. The cricketing venue was constructed in 106 days and hosted a total of eight matches during the course of ten days in the ICC tournament. After being torn down, the stadium will revert to its original state with public access to its muddy, grassy and dusty surfaces. The entries will be free for the venue. As per the International Cricket Council (ICC), it would be up to the Nassau County authorities how they want to maintain their pitches.

Mohammed Siraj receives best fielding award from ex India great following T20 World Cup 2024 match vs USA

Indian bowling star Mohammed Siraj was named Fielder of the Match during the clash against the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024. The speedster took a stunning overhead catch to dismiss Nitish Kumar off Arshdeep Singh delivery in the 15th over. Not only this, but he also took Jones’ catch during the game. Siraj was named the best fielder as he beat teammates Rishabh Pant and Suryakumar Yadav to get the award. Siraj received the medal from ex-India great Yuvraj Singh, one of the greatest fielders India has produced. Named as the ICC’s Global Ambassador for the 2024 T20 World Cup, Singh made a special visit to the Indian dressing room to present the award to Siraj. 

Rohit Sharma signs autograph for young fan after win over USA in T20 World Cup 2024

India skipper Rohit Sharma signed cap for a young fan after Men in Blue secured a seven-wicket win over co-hosts USA in the T20 World Cup 2024. The 2007 winners took down the World Cup debutants by a margin of seven wickets to pave their way to the Super 8 stage of the tournament. After the match, Sharma made a young fan’s day by signing an autograph for him. A video has been doing rounds on social media where ‘Hitman’ was seen giving autograph to his little fan on his cap in New York. The incident took place after a fan was waiting for his chance to get Rohit’s autograph on his cap. Seeing the fan waiting, Sharma approached him and signed autograph.

Fast bowling star Shaheen Afridi has urged Pakistan fans to support their team despite a disappointing T20 World Cup 2024 campaign in the USA and West Indies. The Men in Green suffered a shock defeat against the Americans in a thrilling Super Over and then blew out a comfortable chase against India before beating Canada to win their first game. Speaking to CrickWick,  Shaheen Afridi said, "Everyone supports you in good times, but I've always said that fans must support us in tough times. We are your team, not a gully cricket team or a team where players have been picked based on recommendations. If you can't support the team now, you are just like the media."
