With this win, India completed their revenge for the CWC 2019 semi-final loss against the Kiwis and also booked a place in the final with one among Australia and South Africa set to clash in the CWC 2023 final.

The Men in Blue took down a confident New Zealand side in the first semi-final with a massive margin of 70 runs in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. This was India's first 50-over World Cup final appearance after winning the marquee tournament in 2011 at this exact venue. While Virat Kohli (117), Shreyas Iyer (105), and Shubman Gill (80*) helped India reach 397 runs at a loss of four wickets, Mohammad Shami picked up seven wickets, which is the most by an Indian bowler in ODI history, to qualify for the final.

Former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff has been named the head coach of the Men's Northern Superchargers side in The Hundred.
