Asian Games 2023: India women's cricket team qualify for semi-finals

The Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou is underway as the India women's team led by Smriti Mandhana have reached the semi-final stage after their quarter-final clash against Malaysia was abandoned by rain on Thursday.  After winning the toss, the Malaysia women's team asked India to bat first as the Women in Blue registered 173 runs in the rain-affected match, which was reduced to 15 overs. The rain-marred match was stopped with just two balls being bowled by the Indians.

India vs Australia: Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc ruled out for 1st ODI

Australian skipper Pat Cummins and batter Steven Smith are set to make a comeback in the squad for the first ODI against India. On the other hand, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell have been ruled out of the squad for the first game. Notably, India will host Australia in a three-match ODI series commencing on September 22, where the first game will be played at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. 

Rahul Dravid reveals reason to rest Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for Australia ODIs

After winning the Asia Cup 2023, Team India have set their eyes on the ODI World Cup next month. Ahead of the marquee event in India, the Men in Blue will face Australia for three ODI matches and India coach Rahul Dravid has revealed the reason behind resting Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli ahead of the grand tournament. Dravid said, "It is important to get them to the World Cup in the right frame of mind. The team wants Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma fresh both physically and mentally for the World Cup."

Uttarakhand High Court to take suo motu notice of Virat Kohli’s video on building playgrounds

The Uttarakhand High Court on Monday requested a response from the state and federal governments on the issue of the lack of playgrounds for kids within the next two weeks after taking suo motu notice of a video posted by cricketer Virat Kohli. In a clip shared by Kohl, he revealed the realities of sports, while interacting with some children. The top court stated that many locations lack playgrounds for kids.

ODI World Cup 2023:  South Africa's Anrich Nortje, and Sisanda Magala ruled out

After failing to recover from their respective injuries, South Africa stars Anrich Nortje and Sisanda Magala have been ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. The Proteas took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and announced their 15-member squad for the marquee event and noted that Nortje and Magala have been replaced by Andile Phelukwayo and Lizaad Williams.
