Shashank Singh's blistering knock powers Punjab to 3-wicket win over Gujarat

Punjab Kings, on the back of Shashank Singh's incredible knock, took down Gujarat Titans in a three-wicket victory. This was the Titans' first home loss of the 2024 season as they had defeated Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Ahmedabad. GT skipper Shubman  Gill top-scored with an 89-run knock which included six fours and four sixes as Gujarat set a 200-run target for the PBKS. In 9 overs, the Kings lost four wickets at 70 runs and Shashank Singh made his way to the crease.  Shashank Singh (61*-off-29) held one end up and built crucial stands with Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma to carry the Kings over the finish line.

SRH head coach Daniel Vettori shares major update on Wanindu Hasaranga's fitness

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori shared a major update on the fitness of Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who hasn't featured in IPL 2024 yet. The Hyderabad-based franchise has had a decent start to its 2024 campaign with one win and two losses. Police arrest 8 individuals running betting racket during IPL 2024 in Madhya Pradesh

The Indore police revealed busting a racket involving betting of crores of rupees on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). According to PTI, an official confirmed on Thursday, the authorities have arrested eight persons in this connection. Acting on a tip, the police arrested eight individuals on April 3 from a flat in a multi-story building in the Lasudia area here in Madhya Pradesh.  These arrests were made as the accused placed bets online on the IPL matches through a website.

Mayank Yadav’s mother reveals dietary habits of LSG fast bowler

Mayank Yadav, who became the fastest Indian bowler in the history of the IPL this season, clocking a speed of 156.7 kmph, has been the talk of the town for his express pace and accuracy. After securing two consecutive player of the match performances in the wins for Lucknow Super Giants, Mayank Yadav’s mother, Mamta Yadav spoke about the dietary habits of her son, which helped him gain instant success in the IPL.  She said, as per the report from NDTV, "Mayank has just turned vegetarian. Earlier, he used to eat non-veg food. He has been eating vegetarian food for the last 2 years."

KKR star Angkrish Raghuvanshi trolls Man City fan Phil Salt on Instagram

Kolkata Knight Riders youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi, playing his maiden IPL inning, smashed 54 in 27 balls with five fours and three sixes as KKR posted 272, the second-highest score in IPL history. After the match, Raghuvanshi was praised by several of his teammates on Instagram including opening batter Phil Salt, who shared a story with the young Indian batter's picture. In reply to this post,  Raghuvanshi reshared the story and jokingly trolled his teammate by writing, "Manc is still red." Salt is a Manchester City fan whereas  Raghuvanshi supports Man United.

DC skipper Rishabh Pant fined INR 24 lakh for second over-rate offence in IPL 2024

The IPL said in a statement, "Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders. As it was his team’s second offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Pant was fined INR 24 lakhs.

Mumbai Court directs police to investigate molestation allegations against Prithvi Shaw

In a major development, a Mumbai court has reportedly directed the police to investigate the molestation allegations filed by the social media influencer Sapna Gill against the Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw in 2023. With that, his participation in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with Delhi Capitals could come under some jeopardy with a potential jail time looming.  As per the report from the PTI, SC Tayde, the Metropolitan Magistrate, instructed the police to submit a report of its inquiry on the Prithvi Shaw and Sapna Gill case by June 19.
