Sporting  Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool for the 2024-25 season. Amorim has held discussions about a three-year contract and is set to become Jurgen Klopp's successor. Islamic State threatens terrorist attack during Champions League quarter-finals

Everton hit with new two-point reduction for breaching Premier League's financial rules

English Premier League side Everton has received a new two-point deduction for breaching Premier League profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) up to 2023. This was the second point deduction for the Toffees, as the PL  docked a record 10 points in November for a £19.5m overspend in the four years up to 2022  although that was reduced to six points on appeal.

Arsenal defender  Oleksandr Zinchenko was asked whether he would join the war against Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the 27-year-old Ukrainian stated that he would join the war if he was called up. Reacting to the statement, former Tottenham and Nottingham Forest defender Serge Aurie called out Zinchenko on social media and asked him to stop his show and join the war "right now". Aurier took to his Snapchat handle and wrote, "Zinchenko is ready to fight if Ukraine calls. Go now, barefoot. Stop your cinema and go there right now. A real volunteer doesn't need anyone to call him up."

Sumit Nagal, the world number 93, made history at the Monte Carlo Masters, becoming the first Indian player to reach the second round of the tournament at the Court des Princes. The 26-year-old fought back from being a set down, to defeat the Italian Matteo Arnaldi in a hard-fought battle in the first round 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. Now, Nagal will face Holger Rune in the Round of 32 clash on April 10.

Hubert Hurkacz defeats  Pedro Martinez  to win  Estoril Open in  Portugal

Poland's Hubert Hurkacz clinched his first clay-court title after defeating Pedro Martinez of Spain 6-3, 6-4 on Sunday in the final of the Millennium Estoril Open in Estoril, Portugal.  The No. 2 seed, Hurkacz recorded 15 aces to win his eighth career ATP Tour crown in the 87-minute match. He won 29 of 35 first-serve points and did not have to save any break points, while Martinez saved 3 of 5.
