Teenager Arda Guler's superb long-range strike helped Turkey make a victorious start to their Euro 2024 campaign with a 3-1 win over tournament debutants Georgia in Dortmund on Tuesday. Mert Muldur gave Turkey a deserved lead in the 25th minute, smashing a swerving volley past helpless Georgia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from the edge of the box. However, Georges Mikautadze turned Giorgi Kochorashvili's cross past Mert Gunok to equalise in the 32nd minute. The 19-year-old Guler scored after 65 minutes to help register a 3-1 win.

Igor Stimac asks AIFF to clear due payment in 10 days

Igor Stimac asked the AIFF to clear their due payments within 10 days. Stimac, who was sacked by the AIFF, labelled his dismissal from the team’s helm as ‘unilateral’ and warned that he will sue the Indian football governing body. The Croatia international said that if the AIFF doesn’t settle his dues within next 10 days, he will approach the FIFA Tribunal and file a lawsuit.

Novak Djokovic set to play 2024 Paris Olympics

On Wednesday, June 19, Team Serbia confirmed that former World No. 1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic will feature at the 2024 Paris Olympics, set to be played in July-August. “Novak Djokovic and Dusan Lajovic have fulfilled the conditions according to ATP ranking and confirmed their participation at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris 2024,” the Olympic Committee of Serbia said in their statement.

The All England Club on Wednesday, June 19 announced wildcard list for the upcoming Wimbledon 2024. Senior trap shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman has made the cut in the men’s trap while Rajeshwari Kumari will take aim in the women’s trap. Ananjeet Singh Naruka will be India’s sole men’s skeet shooter while Raiza Dhillon and Maheshwari Chauhan in women’s skeet.

Indian golfers Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Singh Bhullar booked their 2024 Paris Olympics berth as the International Golf Federation published the final men's confirmed Olympic Golf Ranking on Monday. The list was published after the deadline of 17th June 2024 concluded. As per the final Olympic ranking list, Shubhankar was placed at 48th rank with his world rank being 219 and Gaganjeet was placed at 54th with his world rank being 261.
