FIA to consider changes in F1 calendar to deal with extreme weather conditions
In the wake of the Qatar Grand Prix race running in temperatures of more than 30°C and high humidity, which caused great discomfort to the drivers, the FIA is considering the possibility of changing the F1 calendar. After it was revealed that French driver Esteban Ocon of Alpine had vomited in his helmet during the race, the FIA statement read, “They should not be expected to compete under conditions that could jeopardise their health or safety.”

Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the President of FIA has said that the F1 should have more teams and few races on their calendar, after the US-based organisation Andretti’s bid to enter the sport with an aim to expand the schedule to 24 races. The multi time champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Conor McGregor of Ireland has submitted paperwork in his bid to enter the USADA testing pool according to the UFC President Dana White, to become eligible to fight in the promotion down the road. The 35-year-old was removed from the testing pool last year, after he suffered a horrific leg injury in his UFC fight against the American Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
