Indian javelin thrower DP Manu, who was India's one of the medal hopes at Olympics 2024, has been suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after being tested for an anabolic steroid. As per a source, the athlete’s test came positive during the Indian Grand Prix in April 2024. Manu is a 2023 Asian Championships 2023 silver medalist who was set to qualify for the Olympics through the world ranking quota, but will now miss the quadrennial tournament.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc took seventh from 10th on the grid after a technical fault. After the race, he said, "Once we cleared the DRS, I could do my own race and it was better. You could see they had two cars pushing flat-out trying to make it difficult for me.”
