Spanish women’s coach Jorge Vilda sacked for supporting Luis Rubiales

The Spanish Football Federation has shown the door to women’s coach Jorge Vilda only two weeks after winning the World Cup amid the ongoing Luis Rubiales crisis. Vilda's coaching and playing staff have already quit in opposition to Rubiales. After originally backing Luis Rubiales, the Federation President who was barred by FIFA from engaging in any football-related activity after kissing athlete Jennifer Hermoso on the lips during the awards ceremony, the 42-year-old has come under increasing criticism. Rubiales asserts that the kiss was mutually consenting, although Hermoso disputes this.

I think so, yes: Louis van Gaal on FIFA World Cup 2022 being rigged in favour of Lionel Messi

Dutch manager Louis van Gaal believes Argentina's Lionel Messi and the World Cup win in Qatar were the result of a scam. Van Gaal was in command of the Netherlands team that lost to the eventual champions in the quarterfinals, with Argentina triumphing on penalties following a thrilling 2-2 draw at Doha's Lusail Stadium.

Argentina took a two-goal lead in a dramatic contest thanks to goals from Nahuel Molina and Messi's penalty, which was awarded with just 17 minutes remaining in the game. But in one of the tournament's most dramatic twists, the Dutch came back with two goals from Wout Weghorst, the second of which came 11 minutes into stoppage time in the fiercely contested match.
