The Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has signed a contract extension with the club until 2028, with a release clause of one billion euros reportedly attached to his current deal. The 22-year-old, who joined Real Madrid from Santos over four years ago, has made 179 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 39 goals in the process.

Sir Bobby Charlton passed away after falling at care home: Reports

Former Manchester United icon Sir Bobby Charlton reportedly passed away after accidentally falling and hitting at a care home. The football icon died at the age of 86 last month following a long battle with dementia. As per the court’s statement, an inquest was held on Wednesday, November 1, to find Charlton’s cause of death. The reports suggest that the former English footballer suffered an accidental fall at the Willows care home in Knutsford and was declared dead at Macclesfield General Hospital on Saturday, October 21.

World number 1 tennis star Novak Djokovic expressed his happiness on defeating Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the Paris Masters. Djokovic took down Etcheverry 6-3, 6-2 to reach the third round of the tournament. After his win, he said, “I am pleased. I think I played well in the important points. Hit the extra shot and made him uncomfortable. I think I changed the position of the court and did not give him the same look. I think that allowed me to break serve in the first set. I was serving up and down. Some parts of the match really good, others losing the rhythm.”

Tennis star Ons Jabeur announced that she will donate a portion of prize money from the WTA finals to support the Palestinians who suffered in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Jabeur defeated Marketa Vondrousova 6-4, 6-3 in round-robin play at the 2023 WTA Finals, and in the summit clash, she will lock horns with world number 2 Iga Swiatek on Friday, November 3. 

Announcing that she will donate a part of the money, she said, "I haven't been happy lately, to be honest with you. The situation in the world doesn't make me happy. It's very tough seeing children, babies dying every day. It's heartbreaking. So I've decided to donate part of my prize money to help the Palestinians."

Iga Swiatek pays tribute to FRIENDS’ star Matthew Perry

Four-time major champion Swiatek, 22, paid a heartfelt tribute to FRIENDS’ star Matthew Perry. The Polish star defeated Coco Gauff in the group stage, and after the match, while interacting with the press, she paid her tribute to Perry, famously known as Chandler Bing. She said, "I know that his life was tough on him. It wasn't easy. Obviously, it's really, really sad that he passed away, and he was really kind of loved by everybody and his fans.” 

Carlos Alcaraz loses to Roman Safiullin in Paris Masters qualifiers

World number 2 player Carlos Alcaraz suffered a 6-3, 6-4 loss to qualifier Roman Safiullin in the second round of the Paris Masters on Tuesday. Alcaraz said in a news conference, “I didn’t feel well, you know, in the game. I think I didn’t move well. In the shots, I think I had a good quality of shots. But, you know, physically, in the part of movement, I have to improve a lot.”
