Hockey India announced the Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team on Saturday, May 4, which will travel to Europe between May 20 and 29. The team will play five matches across three countries against Belgium, Germany, and a Netherlands Club team Bredase Hockey Vereniging Push. The team will be led by Rohit while Shardanand Tiwari will shoulder the duties of his deputy. The official team announced for the Europe Tour is as follows:

Andrey Rublev opened up on the injury issues of players including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev at the 2024 Madrid Open. He said that players are ultimately responsible for their own injuries. Rublev said, "Whenever you jump onto a court, to train or play, there is a risk. When training you already go with a lot of intensity, so there is always a risk. I think it all depends on the moment.” He added, “When you are tired or things are not going well for you, you have problems with your body. Each tennis player is responsible for himself and knows where he should push more or less.”

German tennis icon Boris Becker was set free from bankruptcy proceedings in a London court after the judge determined he took all steps to settle his debts. According to Reuters, Becker fell short of nearly $62.5 million he owed Chief Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Nicholas said that he ended the case due to Becker’s earnest efforts. Becker served eight months of a 2-and-a-half-year sentence in a London prison, and two years ago, he was deported back to Germany. While the former tennis icon faced several charges, he was convicted on four, including property removal and debt concealment.
Andrey Rublev defeats Taylor Frit; secures maiden Madrid Open final berth
Andrey Rublev made it to his first Madrid Open final by defeating America’s Taylor Fritz on Friday with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-3 on Friday. Rublev is the highest seed left in the tournament at the semifinal stage. Daniil Medvedev retired from the quarterfinal match against Jiri Lehecka after losing the first set 6-4. With the win, the Russian closed the gap in their head-to-head record with four wins and five losses.

Indian ace men’s badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty opened up on their Thomas Cup 2024 quarterfinal loss and vowed to be back together stronger. Satwik said, “We just kept pushing ourselves even though we were not playing to the best of our abilities. But if you want to beat them, you have to play at a much better level than this. We'll take a lot of learning from this and come back stronger." Chirag told PTI, "The rallies were quite short. Whenever we played longer rallies, we were scoring points but it was a service-receiving game right from the second game and we won that. I think it was more like who's dominating in the first three shots.”

India coach Igor Stimac announced the first list of 26 probable participants for the Bhubaneswarcamp. The team will prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 matches against Kuwait and Qatar. The list released by Igor Stimac includes four I-League players as well including Muhammad Hammad (Real Kashmir), Edmund Lalrindika (Inter Kashi), David Lalhlansanga (Mohammedan SC) and Lalrinzuala (Aizwal FC).

Mason Greenwood and Getafe players walk out with their mothers to celebrate Mother's Day

Marco Reus announces his departure from Dortmund after 12 years
Borussia Dortmund icon Marco Reus, who has been with BVB through thick and thin, has recently announced his departure from the German club at the end of the season. Reus spent 12 years at the Signal Iduna Park and has decided to leave the club as a free agent as his contract is set to expire in June 2024. Reus is only behind Adi Preißler in Dortmund's all-time leading goalscorers list as he has scored 168 goals and 128 assists across all competitions. Earlier reports suggested that Reus has an unpleasant relationship with BVB coach Edin Terzic due to his lack of playing time. The 34-year-old midfielder last started a game for Dortmund on March 17 during a 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
