AIFF sacks Shaji Prabhakaran for breach of trust
The All-India Football Federation sacked its secretary general Shaji Prabhakaran citing ‘breaching of trust’ The decision was taken by President Kalyan Chaubey. The football committee also released a statement announcing Shaji’s termination effective immediately. The statement read, “The All-India Football Federation hereby announces that the services of Dr. Shaji Prabhakaran have been terminated due to breach of trust with immediate effect as of November 7, 2023.”
Neymar’s girlfriend, newborn escape kidnapping attempt in Brazil
Brazilian footballer Neymar’s girlfriend, Bruna Biancardi, and their newborn child Mavie escaped a kidnapping attempt. Biancardi and their child were the target of a criminal group, who tried to break into their apartment in Brazil on Tuesday, November 7. Fortunately, neither Biancardi nor Mavie were at home when the incident took place. Biancardi’s parents were said to be at home as per the R7 newspaper, and the elderly couple was taken hostage but later came out unhurt.
Visiting fan gets 3-year ban for racist gesture towards Son Heung-min
A visiting supporter received a three-year ban for making a racist gesture towards Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min as per the North London club. The incident occurred during Spurs' 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in May. The fan was arrested and charged with a racially-charged public order offence.
Al Ain sacks ex-Ajax coach Alfred Schreuder after six months
Dutch coach Alfred Schreuder parted ways with UAE club Al Ain on Wednesday after just six months. The termination was announced following reports Schreuder could be moving to Saudi Arabia. Al Ain said on X, "An agreement was reached with Dutch coach Schreuder to terminate his contract by mutual consent due to the lack of harmony between the coach and his assistant technical staff with the company’s institutional work system.”
Jude Bellingham to feature against Braga after shoulder injury
Real Madrid’s midfielder Jude Bellingham is likely to feature against Braga on November 9, Thursday, in their UEFA Champions League clash. Bellingham has been a crucial member of their side with him having scored in all three of their Champions League games in this season. Indian women’s hockey team clinches sixth spot in FIH World Rankings
After clinching the Jharkhand Women's Asian Champions 2023 title, the Indian women’s hockey team have secured sixth spot in the FIH World Rankings. They are now ranked as the 6th best Women’s Hockey Team in the world, with 2368.83 points. Earlier the team was placed at the eighth spot, but after clinching bronze at the Asian Games 2023, and winning gold at Women’s Asian Championships 2023, they have moved to the sixth spot.

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur after facing visa issues. Sen took to social media and tweeted the issue he is facing ahead of the Japan Masters. Sen tweeted, "I have to travel to Japan & China Open on Sat. Me and my team applied for Japan visa on 30/10/23. We still haven’t got the visa. I have to apply for a China visa as well. Urgent request for visa for myself, my coach and physio. Please help.”

Carlos Alcaraz to make debut for Team Europe at Laver Cup 2024
Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz is set to make his debut for Team Europe at 2024’s Laver Cup. The tournament will be held at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin from September 20-22, 2024. The 20-year-old reigning Wimbledon champion was the first player to be named on Captain Bjorn Borg’s Team Europe. Team Europe were champions for the first four editions of the tournament but faced consecutive defeats to Team World in London in 2022 and Vancouver in 2023.

Tiger Woods would headline and compete in TGL
Tiger Woods will headline the sixth and final team in the TGL. Woods will also compete in the league as a press release by the TGL. The team will be named Jupiter Links Golf Club. "Through its use of technology, TGL is a modern twist of traditional golf and ultimately will make the sport I love more accessible," Woods said in a news release. "Having the opportunity to not only compete, but also own a team to represent Jupiter is an exciting next chapter for me."
