In the Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, the table-toppers, Punjab Kings (PBKS) are locking horns with five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad on Sunday, June 1. However, the match is of crucial importance as the winner will proceed into the final, whereas the loser will be knocked out of the tournament, ending their campaign in IPL 2025.

However, the game commenced with PBKS skipper, Shreyas Iyer, winning the toss and electing to bowl first. His decision came seeing some overcast conditions prevalent in the city. But with the toss taking place in time, sudden rain halted the proceedings and delayed the start.

What is the cut-off time for PBKS vs MI Qualifier 2 in IPL 2025?

With rain coming into play, the players were seen heading back into the dugout. While the rain threat continues to loom in the crucial match, the biggest question arises is what is the cut-off time for a 20-over game? According to the rules and regulations, the cut-off time for a full 20-over per side match is 9:30 pm IST.

If the rain subsides and the outfield is deemed fit for play, the match can commence anytime before 9:30 pm without any reduction of overs. However, the scenario isn’t the same thereafter. If we continue to see delayed start, overs will start to reduce post 9:30 pm. Moreover, the game has been allocated upto 120 minutes of the extra time, if the weather interruptions continue.
