Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam singles champion tweeted moments ago that his surgery went well on June 2. The Spaniard also revealed that the arthroscopy was performed on the left psoas tendon in the hip, which has kept him out of competitive tennis since January, earlier this year.

It was at the Australian Open 2023, while playing the second-round match against Mackenzie MacDonald, the 37-year-old suffered a hip injury. The former World number 1 tennis player lost that match to the American in straight sets by 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 margin.

The tweet from Rafael Nadal on his official Twitter account regarding his hip surgery which was in Spanish, translated to English, read, “Hello everyone. As you know last night I had surgery. Everything went well and the arthroscopy was on the left psoas tendon that has kept me out of competition since January.”
