Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise SunRisers Hyderabad have suffered heavily due to continuous chopping and changing to their team as well as the management. The team that lifted its maiden IPL title in 2016 and reached playoffs for a couple of more seasons under David Warner sacked the same player when he failed in a few games. SRH ousted David Warner and also released Rashid Khan ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction, breaking the backbone of the entire setup.

There were many controversial reports involving SRH management. Fans also did not like the way the franchises treated its star players. While all those things remain under the rug, Mohammad Nabi has talked about those incidents within the team. Although Nabi did not disclose what exactly transpired, he definitely did not look pleased by the way franchises treated the likes of David Warner and Rashid Khan.

“When we (Nabi and Rashid) came to SRH in 2017 and the way we played for the next three years- the team combination and the performance- was best. But after that, what happened to the team in the last two years, who did it and why; I don’t know. Everything from team combination to coaching staff and environment changed. Players were not willing to play for the franchise,” said Nabi to SportsYaari.

“A franchise as big as SRH should think about building a team rather than destroying it. They should have looked to build a good team slowly instead of making abrupt changes. They let go of Rahid who was a brand for them for five years. Not only Rashid but other top players too. They should not have done that. I don’t understand what they wanted to do.”

Jos Buttler best batter, Bumrah best bowler, and MS Dhoni best captain

Mohammad Nabi was also asked to pick the best batter, the best bowler, and the best captain from IPL. The former Afghanistan captain was unhesitant in naming Jos Buttler as the best batter, Jasprit Bumrah as the best bowler and Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the best captain in the league.
