India is all set to play New Zealand in the first semi-final of 2023 World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 15th November at 2:00 PM IST. In case if the match gets washed out without getting a result, then ICC has announced a reserve day for this game.
Hence, if India versus New Zealand semi-final match ends without a result on match day, then reserve day can be used accordingly but even on reserve day if the match gets washed out, then the winner will be declared based on the points table of 2023 ODI World Cup.
In case of reserve day also, if any one of the team fail to play less than 20 overs, then India will proceed for the final stage of 2023 World Cup as they finished as table toppers in the tournament after remaining unbeaten throughout the group stage.
During Australia versus South Africa match in 1999 World Cup semi-finals in Birmingham, the match ended in a tie, but since Australia finished at a better position (second) in points table than South Africa (third), Australia ended up qualifying for the final of 1999 WC.
