On Friday, January 31, star Indian batter and former skipper Virat Kohli’s stay in the middle was cut short as his innings ended in a jiffy. Coming out to bat after teammate Yash Dhull’s wicket, the crowd brought in cheers for the Indian veteran as he made his way in the middle on day two of the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
However, the 36-year-old middled some shots along with smoking a straight drive for a boundary off Himanshu Sangwan’s over, he was cleaned up on the very next delivery. The Railways fast bowler send the stumps for a walk with a brilliant inswinging delivery, thus ending the Indian batter’s stay after scoring six off 15 deliveries.
Who is Himanshu Sangwan?
Speaking of the 29-year-old Railways pacer, Sangwan hails from Delhi and was born in Najafgarh. He has played for Delhi U19 team, but made his senior team for Railways during 2019-20 season. So far, he has played in 23 First-Class, 17 List A and seven T20 matches, picking up 77, 21 and five wickets, respectively.
Interestingly, Himanshu has served as a ticket collector and was posted at the New Delhi Station. On his debut in cricket, he picked the big wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw against Mumbai and comepleted a five-wicket haul in just his second innings in the same game.
