Lissie Mackintosh, the F1 presenter and the ‘Queen of the Paddock', is a social media personality and content creator. The 23-year-old English hosts the “Going Purple” podcast to chat about bigger, wider topics in Formula One and makes occasional vlogs to highlight her fashion choices for everyone to see. She started following the sport from the time when Lewis Hamilton won championships consistently.
Ever since joining F1 as a presenter, Lissie Mackintosh has taken an interview or uploaded behind-the-scenes pictures, featuring the likes of top drivers, including Jenson Button, Daniel Ricciardo, Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris, among others.
It has helped her amass an insane following on various social media accounts, including TikTok with 320,000 followers and Instagram with 260,000 followers, which are rising by the minute. The videos from Lissie Mackintosh on TikTok have also been liked 11 million times already.
But with such attention in the online world, she hasn’t been immune to the criticism from trolls on her official social media accounts. Last December, Lissie Mackintosh talked with Sky Sports News about the toughest part of her job as a F1 presenter. She remarked that hateful comments coming her way are far from ideal, but it fuels her to continue with the job and inspire the next generation of girls.
She was quoted as saying to the English news agency, “The content creation side comes with thousands of people being able to say whatever they want to me. It was tough in the beginning, there were loads of comments like ‘stay in the kitchen’, ‘know your place’.”
“Ultimately, the kind of hateful comments says more about them than me. I use them to fuel me and there are so many girls now who look up to me, and I feel responsible to put all those hateful and nasty comments aside and just remind myself that there is something so much bigger here,” Lissie Mackintosh opined.
