The Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023 season began with an exciting match between the Texas Super Kings (TSK) and the Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas On Thursday, July 13. TSK won by a massive margin of 69 runs, courtesy of outstanding efforts by their batsmen and bowlers. Mohammad Mohsin, on the other hand, stole the show with his bowling, taking four wickets for eight runs in three overs.

Mohammad Mohsin is a 27-year-old leg-spinner who has roots in Pakistan and he made his first-class debut in the Pakistan circuit in the 2015-16 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy but failed to pick up a wicket in the entire tournament. The all-rounder made his List-A debut three years later and scored a fifty in his first match and also played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Peshawar Zalmi in 2020, where he took one wicket in his only appearance.

The leg-spinner has taken eight wickets at an average of 25.62 in seven first-class games and eight wickets in seven List-A matches at an economy rate of 4.97. In addition, the leg-spinner has 351 runs in First Class cricket at an average of 31.90. In T20s, Mohsin has played 21 matches, scoring 488 runs and taking 15 wickets in the process.

Mohsin moved to the USA in 2021 and since then he has impressed with his batting and bowling skills in the Dallas Premier League too, where he scored a century for his team. Mohsin was picked by TSK as a domestic wild-card pick for the MLC 2023. In the opening match against LAKR, he showed his class with the ball as he ripped through the lower order of the opposition and dismissed Sunil Narine, Corne Dry, Adam Zampa, and Lockie Ferguson in quick succession to seal the game for his team.
