The Chetan Sharma-led selection committee announced the 18-men squad for the Sri Lanka series on Saturday, comprising of three T20Is and two Tests starting from February 26. While selectors opted to look beyond Test veterans like Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ishant Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha, they bestowed their trust on some fresh faces to represent the country in Tests including Saurabh Kumar. In addition, Rohit Sharma has been appointed the country's full-time Test skipper.

UP's left-arm orthodox Saurabh Kumar received a maiden India call up for the Test matches on this tour. The 28-year old all-rounder has already impressed many cricket pundits with his performances in first-class cricket and he would want to carry on his form in the international games.
