On Monday, February 24, New Zealand are taking on Bangladesh in their second fixture of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. While the Kiwis are coming after a dominating 60-run win over defending champions, Pakistan, the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side suffered a six-wicket drubbing at the hands of India.

The Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand won the toss ahead of the play and elected to field first. When asked of the team combination, Santner confirmed two changes into their side with Kyle Jamieson coming in place of Nathan Smith and Rachin Ravindra also making a return after missing the opening match of Champions Trophy 2025 and a few matches of the tri-nation series.

Mahmudullah and Nahid Rana return; Soumya Sarkar and Tanzim Hasan Sakib miss out

After speaking to Mitchell Santner after he won the toss, the Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto also was asked of his decision if he would have won the toss. Asking of the team combination, Najmul Hossain Shanto confirmed two changes in his side. “Two changes for us - Mahmudullah is back in for us. Nahid Rana is in for us as well. Soumya Sarkar and Tanzid Shakib are out,” Shanto said.

However, the Bangladesh skipper did not reveal the reason behind this move, but just added that the collapse against India gave them a lot of confidence, resulting into making some needful changes.
