Kolkata Knight Riders star batter Rinku Singh once again pulled off another last-ball finish against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens. Chasing 180, KKR got off to a great start with Jason Roy who put up a solid 38 in 24 balls. Batting with Roy, Nitish Rana also batted extremely well and hit a half-century.
But toward the end, the match was once again on the shoulders of Andre Russell and Rinku Singh. The pair had a monumental task of scoring 58 in the last 30 balls and the duo went all guns blazing. Russell did most of the heavy lifting with a knock of 42 in 23 balls but Rinku also held his end as managed to find boundaries at regular intervals. Then in the final over, KKR needed six runs but failed to find any big hit. With 2 required off the last two balls, Andre Russell got run out.
Then on the final ball, Rinku Singh came on the strike and flicked Arshdeep Singh for a stunning boundary towards the right of the deep backward square leg to clinch another thrilling last-ball win. Reacting to this brilliant finish, fans flooded social media showering praise on Rinku Singh.
