Team India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) legend Virat Kohli is under fierce criticism for the last 30 hours after visuals of him arriving at the Mumbai airport started doing rounds on June 5. The day before Kohli’s airport video, a stampede took place outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, where 11 people got crushed while striving to witness RCB's title-winning celebration at the venue. Following the unfortunate event, social media users have expressed ire against RCB and Kohli.

A lot of netizen also asserted that the celebrations were conducted on June 4, without proper planning to accommodate the 36-year-old’s travel plans, who was all set to leave for London on June 5. However, social media users didn’t corroborate their claim regarding Virat’s travel plan. On June 6, outrage against Kohli became a serious topic as "#ArrestKohli" started trending on X. The trend has got more than 46,000 posts so far.

Virat Kohli reacted to Bengaluru stampede on June 6

Earlier, Virat Kohli expressed his misery over a tragic incident in Bengaluru. Taking to his Instagram handle, he had written, “Deeply saddened to hear about the incident. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of the victims.” However, his post couldn’t calm netizen’ anger as they felt Kohli could have done a lot more than just dropping a post on social media.

After the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Kohli will next be seen in action for India in the One-Day International (ODI) series in Bangladesh. From August 17 to 23, the Men in Blue will clash against the Bangla side in three ODIs. Kohli, along with Rohit Sharma, will be seen in India colours after five months. Back in 2022, when India toured Bangladesh for three ODIs, the visitors recorded a 2-1 defeat.
